ANDREAS BOZARTH FORNELL

FOUNDER OF BOZARTHFORNELL ARCHITECTS

Andreas Bozarth Fornell was born 1977 in Hagfors, Sweden. He led an eventful life skiing, playing hockey and worked as a construction worker prior to settling the profession of architecture, despite never having taken formal training in the field.

At the age of 15 he moved away from his family to attend a cabinet making school. Three years later he applied to Carl Malmsten School of furniture studies and was accepted and finished his Masters piece.

After graduation he worked daytime as a Cabinetmaker. During that time he also got an internship with a young Swedish architect where he practiced every day after office hours. He visited buildings by renowned architects like le Corbusier, Carlo Scarpa, Mies Van der Rohe, Marcel Brauer and Zaha Hadid all over Europe and USA.

Andreas Bozarth Fornell has worked at a number of architects offices in Stockholm and in 2006 he started up the in-house architect studio at Swedish fashion label Acne Studios.

In September of 2010 Andreas Bozarth Fornell founded his own studio BOZARTHFORNELL ARCHITECTS.

Andreas Bozarth Fornell has executed more than a hundred projects such as retail stores, fashion shows, showrooms, hotels, houses and residential homes in fifteen different countries the past 19 years. The office works within all different fields of architecture but the main focus so far has been fashion retail.

Andreas Bozarth Fornells architectural vision derives its expression from the art world. It’s inspired by his travels and influenced by the pop-culture that surrounds him daily. It is intimately connected to both context and function. The spare landscapes of Sweden have always been a starting point for Andreas in his work. The office works with clients such as Acne Studios, Sandro, Repossi, Kenzo, Moschino, DKNY, Opening Ceremony, Artek and various projects for private clients.
